Simis Kinder

The Simis Kindergarten classes have been a little ahead of my Heights Kinders because of a longer project earlier in the year the Heights Kinder Artists worked on.  So the Simis Kinder artists have been drawing animals, space scapes, mountain scapes and sea scapes influenced by the artist all the Kindergarteners have been studying: Alexander Calder.

For 3 days the students used colored pencil to make sketches and drawings of these animals and backgrounds and before the break we started painting them. 

We looked at pictures of space, the sea and mountains for our landscapes, for our animals I did a guided cartoon animal drawing and then they could do whatever they wanted.  Here are some sketches of cats/lions based on the guided drawing.
